NEWS RELEASE - 20-12-2006
Aidon is to deliver energy meters to Savon Voima
Aidon Oy, a specialist in automatic meter reading, is delivering
open-architecture energy meters to Savon Voima Oyj. These
point-to-point meters communicating over the GPRS network
will be used especially in household installations in the
rural area.
The partnership was started through meter tests at the beginning
the year and the delivery contract reached now will be succeeded
by subsequent deliveries in 2007. All installations will be
carried out by Voimatel Oy.
- Our tests show that the multi-vendor solution works very
well and it also meets our future needs. In addition to Aidon's
equipment, the system will be complemented with meters from
other suppliers, such as Iskraemeco, says Matti Ryhänen,
Savon Voima Oyj's Director of Network Business.
- A switching feature will be included in all our new GPRS
meters also in the future. It enables the customer or the
AMR system to temporarily switch off electricity e.g. when
moving, without affecting the meter functions.
Aidon launched the first automatic energy metering concept
based on open-thinking. The system is characterised by openness
throughout, from its top level all the way down to metering
energy consumption.
